About Sprout Classroom
We believe every student can do well in every subject, if they learn one small step at a time and someone explains it patiently.
Sprout Classroom is an online learning website for Hong Kong students from P1 to S6. We are starting with maths; Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, geography and other subjects will follow. Each lesson takes a few minutes: get it right and you know straight away, get it wrong and you see why. Our online teacher, Sprout (小芽), is a little sprout growing in a ruler flowerpot, learning with you step by step.
How we teach
- Less is more: one idea per step, picture first, then words.
- Understanding before tricks: every method says why it works, and exam shortcuts are clearly marked.
- Instant feedback: every question tells you straight away whether you are right and why, and wrong questions come back at the end of the lesson.
- A little every day: streaks, XP and badges help you build a habit, but we never punish you by taking away "lives".
- Follows the syllabus: topics follow the Education Bureau curriculum, and every question is our own.
Our course
We design our own P1 to P6 course by following the Education Bureau's primary maths curriculum guide. What matters most to us is that children understand each idea, not that they remember how one textbook does it. Every lesson has different kinds of questions, so children practise each idea from different angles.
What can I learn now?
Maths is open now, and other subjects are coming. Maths Learn mode is open for P1 to P6 and S4, with other levels coming later. Lessons are in Chinese for now; English lessons are planned separately. Key points and examples for DSE maths topics are free to read in DSE maths topics.
