Privacy policy
In short: you can learn without signing up or giving any personal details. We collect your email or WhatsApp number only if you ask for updates, and use it only to tell you about them.
Getting updates: personal information collection statement
- What we collect: the email address or WhatsApp mobile number you send on the Get updates page, the language you use, the page you sent it from, and the date. We do not record your IP address.
- What it is for: only to tell you when Sprout Classroom opens and about important updates, and nothing else. Every message says how to stop receiving them.
- Who may send it: parents, and people aged 18 or over. Students under 18 should ask a parent to sign up for them.
- It is voluntary: you can read the whole site without it; without it, we simply cannot tell you about updates.
- Never sold or passed on: we never sell or rent your details or give them to anyone for marketing. They are stored for us by Cloudflare, as described under Hosting below.
- Who can see it: only the site owner, in the admin console. Every deletion is recorded, without your email or number.
- How long we keep it: until you ask us to delete it, or until we stop sending updates; then it is deleted.
- Access, correction and deletion: email info@sproutclassroom.com at any time to see, correct or delete your details. We will act as soon as we can and reply within 40 days.
Accounts
- Learning needs no account: Learn mode, topic notes and the calculators need no account. Student and parent accounts are still being prepared and cannot be made yet; we will update this policy before they open.
Using the site
- Cookies: visitors never get a cookie. We use no advertising, analytics or tracking tools.
- Progress stays on your device: XP, streaks and finished lessons are saved in your browser's local storage (localStorage). They are not sent to us yet. Clearing your browser data deletes them.
- League: the other players in the league are made up and show only nicknames, to demonstrate how it works.
- Calculators: the maths calculators run in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to us.
- Fonts: web fonts come from Google Fonts, so your browser downloads font files from Google.
- Hosting: the site and the updates list are hosted by Cloudflare, which processes ordinary connection data (such as IP addresses) for security and operation.
